There should be a rubber washer. Make sure the female brass hose connection part is not cross threaded. The plastic male hose part should bottom out against the rubber gasket to get a proper seal. Joined: Sep 25, Location: IL.
It seems odd that they would expect you to supply water with a female hose connector. Are you confident that that plastic isn't some other thread?Muziki wa taarab wazifa yote
Reach4Feb 10, Did you use Teflon tape? Take it off and make sure its not cross threaded then don't use any and snug it up with some channel locks. JeromeFeb 10, Last edited: Feb 10, Like mentioned above, you will need to remove the tape from those two connections. Tape will only cause leaks where you have used it. Last edited: Mar 27, TerryFeb 10, IF it is cross threaded, which it appears to be, then you have created "new threads" on the valve and will have to carefully try to get the nut on and restore the original ones, which can be tricky.
As stated, remove the copper line first, because that can prevent you getting the nut aligned properly, and which is probably why it got crossed. I, and many other plumbers, would use a flexible stainless steel connector instead of copper with that type of connection.
IF tape, or joint compound, is not needed, such as on this connection, it usually does not cause any problems.Fulfillment by Amazon FBA is a service we offer sellers that lets them store their products in Amazon's fulfillment centers, and we directly pack, ship, and provide customer service for these products. This type of water pipe connection does not require soldering with a torch but relies on pressure to make a water tight seal.Yuzu title keys download
Compression fittings should be replaced if they are leaking or if the copper water supply tube of the dishwasher is corroded or kinked. Replacing a leaking compression fitting will prevent expensive to repair water damage and mold growth from occurring in your home. Properly maintaining a dishwasher so that it is in efficient working condition enhances the value of a property. Turn off the power to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker box.
Shut off the water supply at the kitchen water shut-off valve. Place a bucket under the hot water valve that connects the copper supply line of the dishwasher to the hot water pipe under the sink to catch any water trapped in the supply line when you cut it off.
Set a pipe cutter onto the copper supply line, as close as possible to the hot water valve. Slowly spin the tubing cutter around the pipe and tighten the knob on the cutter after every rotation to ensure a square even cut. Remove the screws that attach the dishwasher mounting brackets to the side of the cabinet, the wall or the underside of the counter. Some dishwashers have brackets screwed to the floor.
If your dishwasher has floor-mount brackets, remove the screws that attach them to the floor. Gently and carefully pull out the dishwasher from under the cabinet. Remove the sliding racks of the dishwasher, if you can. Have a helper assist you with tilting the dishwasher onto its back so that you can access the compression fitting.
The compression fitting is attached to an elbow on the dishwasher's water-supply line. Cut off the compression fittings from the other end of the copper supply line -- where it attaches to the dishwasher with a 90 degree elbow -- with the pipe cutter. Run the cutter completely around the pipe as before to make an even cut. Twist a deburring tool around the cut ends of the copper water supply tube to remove any burrs.
Inspect the copper water supply line. If it is kinked, corroded or has visible sings of a leak, it will need to be replaced.
If it is relatively good condition, it can be reused. Unscrew the old dishwasher elbow from the water inlet. Remove any Teflon plumber's tape from the threads of the water inlet.
Wrap a new piece of Teflon plumber's tape onto the threads. Screw on the new dishwasher brass elbow onto the inlet until it is hand tight and then finish tightening the elbow with a wrench. Push the dishwasher back into place and reinstall the screws of the mounting brackets.
Slide a compression nut and ferrule onto each end of the copper water-supply line. Insert one end of the copper supply line into the dishwasher inlet elbow and the other end into the hot water-supply valve. Push the ferrule of the compression fitting located at each end of the copper supply line over the threaded ends of the hot water-supply valve or the elbow connected to the dishwasher inlet. Move the compression nut over the ferrule so that it sits right up against the threads of the valve or elbow.
Screw on the compression nuts until they are hand tight, then use a wrench to turn them a quarter turn. Turn on the hot water-supply valve and the shutoff valve to the kitchen sink. Watch for leaking connections at the compression fittings. If they leak, turn the compression nut a quarter turn.I recently purchased a really nice LG dishwasher from home depot.
Before they delivered the new one, I took out the old one, and familiarized myself with all the pieces. The guy came, gave me the instal kit and the fittings, and basically described to me what to do. I installed the wiring, that works fine. Next I installed the flexible pipe from the water supply. I slide it under the dishwasher to the front where the water supply is supposed to go.
The instructions say to screw in the 90 degree elbow fitting first, then connect the water supply right into that fitting There isn't a lot of room to work with, so I tried my best to use my wrench, but I can't get it in.
Is it supposed to be so tight? If so, what tool would you use to install this properly? My husband is an appliance repairman. Hi, I recently purchased a really nice LG dishwasher from home depot. Any help is appreciated it.

When we returned from our week-long vacation, we were greeted by a soggy kitchen floor. I usually shut off the water supply valve to the dishwasher when we we go away for more than few days but this time, I had totally forgotten about it!
The water inlet valve allows water to enter the dishwasher. With the water inlet valve stuck open, the water gradually filled until the door insulation wicked it up and dripped on to my kitchen floor.I put toilet paper up my bum
The opposite is also true if the inlet valve does not completely open. In this case, the dishwasher will under-fillresulting in longer run-time as well as dirty dishes.
Because this particular Bosch Integra dishwasher has had many revisions over the years, I highly recommend that you physically examine the inlet valve to visually confirm that what you are about order matches your current part. Speaking from a personal experience, there is nothing worse than taking apart the dishwasher to find out that your new replacement part does not match the old one.
Before we end our project, we want to make sure our new inlet valve assembly is leak-free. To check for any leaks:. I had a leak between the elbow and the inlet valve so I ended up undoing the whole thing and install a new elbow hence the reason why I wanted you to have a spare on hand.
Withe the new inlet valve, it was gratifying to hear that swooshing sound of water swirling inside the dishwasher with no leaks!
